FINDING THE JOY IN SICKNESS
I’ve been laying in bed for the past day or so with a bad cold. I haven’t done an outfit post in a while so you may not remember that I always wear a necklace that says “choose joy” on it. I need that reminder every. single. day. whether I’m healthy or sick, happy or sad, busy or bored. Often times I forget that joy is a choice and I don’t have to be sad or depressed even though a situation might lend itself to those negative emotions. It is now in the hard place that I need the joy that comes from Jesus the most. This morning I started thinking about how God uses so many little things to bless us, and if we aren’t looking for them then we will probably miss them. I challenged myself to start looking for ways to be thankful and joyful while I’m sick.
Winter sun streaming through my window.
Essential oils.
My Mom who is passionate about holistic medicine.
My sisters who have been so willing to help me.
Hot herbal tea.
The pink glass water bottle I received for Christmas.
My fever is gone.
The body is able to heal itself without drugs.
God’s grace.
Friends to text.
Hot baths.
Distilled water.
Raw, healthy desserts that don’t contain any sugar but taste amazing.
Prayer.
Kleenex.
Sleep.
That I don’t have the flu.
Time to watch passion 2013
Raindrop massages from my amazing Mom.
God is always good even in the hard times!

This is such a good reminder and so perfectly timed for me since I’ve been lying in bed most of the day with a bad cold. I hope you’re feeling better soon!
